Tire Pressure Gauge
Tire pressure is very important on any motorized vehicle, but especially so for ATVs and UTVs because they are meant to ride at high speeds on rough terrain. You don’t want to head into a hard turn on the trail only to have your tire blowout due to low pressure. A tire gauge will help you keep your tires inflated to the correct pressure.
Quality Wrenches
A good set of wrenches is indispensable for many tasks around your motorcycle. Purchase from a trusted manufacturer and ensure you go with metric measurements, as these are more commonly used in motorsports vehicles.
Socket Set
Sockets work for some of the same jobs as wrenches, but they have a few advantages over wrenches. First, their ratcheting action will make the job quicker and easier. Second, they provide more contact surface when removing fasteners. This helps to reduce the likelihood that they’ll strip nuts or bolts, and are less likely to damage fastener finishes.
Torque Wrench
A torque wrench comes in handy any place where you need to tighten your fasteners to a specific level of torque. Any direct work on the engine usually requires a torque wrench, as do the lug nuts.
Allen Wrench Set
In many detailed jobs, you’ll find fasteners with hexagonal sockets. These require the use of an Allen wrench or hex key to tighten or loosen. Allen wrenches are generally extremely affordable, and they’re helpful to have around for many other jobs around the house or garage.
Air Compressor
An air compressor will come in handy when you need to inflate your tires. It can also be helpful for other jobs, too, if you put on different tool attachments. While it’s certainly a more expensive tool, there’s no getting around the need for one for certain jobs.
Test Light
If you’re working on your vehicle's electrical system, you’ll want to have a test light around. This tool allows you to check whether an electrical connection or wire is conducting energy (read: functioning properly.) Test lights are simple, easy to use, and extremely helpful to have on hand.
Dead Blow Mallet
Hammers are a bit primitive, but some tasks just need the help of some extra force. A dead blow mallet is the best option when you need to hit something. Usually constructed of either wood or urethane, dead blow mallets won’t leave marks on most metal surfaces.
